The Best Wines in the World

I'm sure you will have gathered from my site that I really love Italian wine. Maria, my wife is Italian, and I have spent many years in Italy which has influenced me greatly.

Anyway you look at it Italian wine is superb.

Yes, I love Italian wine but that doesn't mean that I don't enjoy a lot of other wines from many other countries.

I have travelled to Argentina, the USA, South Africa, Spain and France and enjoyed some of the best wines in the world and some great varieties, like the Pinotage in South Africa, that you don't get in Europe.

I don't share much of it on the site because it is all I can do to keep up with the myriad of Italian wine varieties.

So much wine to drink and so little time - what a hard life! But then I do enjoy this sort of challenge and I wouldn't have it any other way.

If you have a favorite wine though, from anywhere in the world, please do share it

If you know a little about the producer please share that to.

Heck, even if it is your own wine tell me a little about it. I look forward to giving it a try and perhaps sharing a few of my comments too.

You don't need to be an expert to share your favorite wine and it doesn't need to be an expensive wine either. In fact I prefer to hear from real people and not the pretentious lot who seem intent on taking over the wine business.

Wine is not about being a snob it is about the pleasure of drinking the stuff.

A high price doesn't make a great wine and not all bargain wines are bad! Many of the wines I feature are excellent but few are expensive.

Mainly because the wineries are small and they don't have huge marketing budgets they are forced to price their wines realistically.

There must be many such wines throughout the world. I look forward to discovering them – discovering them with your help!.
